Wilberto Ortiz
I am a Dominican-American writer with a curious mind, an unreasonable appetite for questions, and a habit of finding philosophical implications in places where they probably aren’t needed.
Cosmic Latte is my attempt to make sense of it all.
Here, I write about whatever catches my attention: philosophy, art, psychology, spirituality, culture, love, and the strange business of being alive. These interests might seem unrelated, but I suspect they are all different paths toward the same questions. What does it mean to be human? What makes a life worth living? Where do we find beauty in a universe that offers no instruction manual?
I don’t pretend to have the answers. Writing is how I work through the questions, follow an idea to its absurd conclusion, and occasionally stumble upon something worth keeping. This is less a collection of conclusions than a record of a mind in motion.
I believe there is something worth noticing in nearly everything, provided we can slow down long enough to notice it. A conversation, a work of art, a passing thought, the taste of a good cup of coffee: the ordinary world has a way of revealing itself as extraordinary when we give it our attention.
Perhaps that’s what this little corner of the internet is about. An attempt to preserve some of that attention. To follow curiosity wherever it leads. To resist, if only occasionally, the temptation to live entirely on the surface of things.
If any of this resonates with you, then perhaps we’re looking at the same universe from different windows.
Welcome to Cosmic Latte.
Stay Cosmic.
