In light of yesterday’s shit show at the capital, I have a burning thought that I must get out. Our president does not make or break America. We as Americans make or break America. I will be honest, I was deathly terrified when Donald Trump took office. There was a part of me that thought “Well this country is fucked.” But guess what? I am still alive and as far as I can tell our country is too. You can make the argument that we have been crumbling the last year with everything that happened in 2020, but to me that shows the resilience of the American people. We all were dramatically tested with the BLM movement and the pandemic. Yes, things could have gone more smoothly, but challenges and hardship lead to growth and adaptability.
I am absolutely tired of people being deathly afraid of the super liberal left. Yes they exist, but are they as prevalent as what some think? Probably not. But even if they were as omnipresent as some believe, do you honestly think that they have the capacity to take down the historically resilient, money and gun loving people of the Land of the Free? Hell no. If you are protesting at the capital because you honestly believe Trump was conspired against, go ahead. I respect that, but have some class while doing it. But if you are protesting out of fear that Biden’s presidency will turn us into a socialist country, then I suggest you go home and get a hobby that can keep your mind away from the news.
